Your Story Isn't Over

Hey friend, I'm so glad you're here.

To tell you the truth, I never planned any of this.

At seventeen, my life changed in an instant. I laid down on railroad tracks and survived something that should have ended my life. I lost both of my legs. And in the years that followed, I had to learn how to navigate life in a wheelchair, and how to begin my healing journey — a journey that taught me how to become mentally strong, resilient, and vulnerable all at once. And maybe most importantly — how to walk on legs of faith with a heart to help others do the same.

This journey led me somewhere I never could have imagined. A book. A seat on Oprah's couch. Stages and sanctuaries across the country, and thousands of conversations with people carrying things they weren't sure they could survive. Out of all of it, Reaching You was born — a place for the hurting, the hopeful, and everyone in between.

My story isn't tidy, and I still have a lot to learn — but somehow, to my amazement, people keep sharing it year after year.

On the good days, the hard days, and every day in between — I am just grateful to still be here. Grateful for the chance to make a difference, to grow, to heal, and to learn what it means to truly thrive.
